UI/UX Design
In the UI/UX Designing internship program, you will explore how to create visually appealing and user-friendly digital experiences. Through practical design projects, you’ll learn key principles of interface design, user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. You’ll use tools like Figma and Adobe XD to design responsive interfaces and build interactive prototypes—developing a strong design thinking mindset and portfolio-ready work.
Level 1: Easy Projects
Task 1: Designing a Personal Portfolio Wireframe
Problem Statement:
Create a wireframe layout for a personal portfolio website.
Steps to Complete:
- Use Figma or Adobe XD
- Create 3 pages: Home, Projects, Contact
- Focus on structure (no colors/images yet)
- Get feedback and iterate
Task 2: Conducting a Heuristic Evaluation
Problem Statement:
Evaluate an existing app or website using usability heuristics.
Steps to Complete:
- Choose a known website
- Use Nielsen’s 10 usability heuristics
- Identify 5–7 issues
- Suggest UI improvements
Task 3: Designing a Simple App UI
Problem Statement:
Design a basic mobile app interface (e.g., To-Do List App).
Steps to Complete:
- Sketch 3-4 key screens (Home, Add Task, Edit Task)
- Add components (buttons, fields, headers)
- Ensure spacing and alignment
- Use a consistent design system
Level 2: Intermediate Projects
Task 4: Creating an Interactive Prototype
Problem Statement:
Build a clickable prototype from your static UI designs.
Steps to Complete:
- Choose a Figma/Adobe XD design
- Add interactive elements like navigation, buttons
- Simulate app flow
- Share the prototype link
Task 5: Conducting a User Survey and Persona Creation
Problem Statement:
Gather feedback and create user personas based on real data.
Steps to Complete:
- Design and distribute a simple Google Form survey
- Analyze responses
- Create at least two user personas
- Link insights to a design decision
Task 6: Redesigning a Poor User Interface
Problem Statement:
Pick a real app/website with poor UX and redesign it.
Steps to Complete:
- Analyze usability flaws
- Redesign key screens in Figma
- Justify the design decisions
- Present before-and-after comparison
Level 3: Advanced Projects
Task 7: Building a Design System
Problem Statement:
Create a reusable design system for apps and websites.
Steps to Complete:
- Define colors, typography, icons, and components
- Build the system in Figma
- Apply it to at least one screen
- Document usage guidelines
Task 8: Usability Testing of a Prototype
Problem Statement:
Conduct usability testing with real users and iterate on design.
Steps to Complete:
- Share your clickable prototype
- Ask 3–5 users to complete specific tasks
- Record and analyze results
- Apply feedback to improve UI
Task 9: End-to-End UI/UX Project for a Real-World Use Case
Problem Statement:
Design and prototype a complete app or site based on real needs.
Steps to Complete:
- Define a problem and audience
- Conduct research, wireframe, prototype
- Include testing and iteration
- Submit full documentation
